Whew!!! Survived first night back....Not to shabby...slow, uneventful...Patient's all behaved and survived. Wore a new pair of my lime green Crocs to work...lovely, felt like I was walking on feathers...pretty good, since when I got to work, there was a torential downpour and I had to literally swim in....I was soaked all the way up to my knees...so I squished around for most of the night...socks never did dry out! Feet were a little pruney looking...guess I will have to keep an extra pair of socks in my bag...(hmmm, good idea....) If the census stays where it is, I will probably be off tonight...lucky me, be off for 2 weeks, work one night and then be off...crazy, huh??!! Our friend Charles is leaving the complex at the end of this week...SO SAD!!!! He is one of the best Supervisors and nurses we have...but since he graduated, he has an opportunity to go to Coliseum....stretch his wings and fly into new territory...Hope they appreciate him...cuz' we could have kept him, if only someone would have made the perverbial offer and realized what we are losing...Oh well...Praying for him in his new position...and praying for us, with whoever they attempt to replace him with....Going to throwdown a party, of sorts on Wednesday night...bringing all kinds of goodies...cake and ice cream...getting him a going away gift....
Today is my youngest neice, Jill's birthday...I remember her birth...I was staying with my sister and her husband in Falls Church, VA the summer of 1972....She was born at Bethesda Naval Hospital early in the morning...I was taking care of big sister Jann, who was not yet 3 yrs old. Lord, I feel so old......Jill is such a special young lady...tells it like it is...a wonderful advocate for all children, especially those underpriveledged and mentally or physcally handicapped....She teaches Special Education, in a City school....very Urban....She gets an education on a daily basis. She's teaching the Autistic class this year and is so excited about it....She is one of God's angels on this earth...a little rough around the wings and halo, but nevertheless, still an angel! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JILLIE BUG!!!!!
Want to take a nap...but if I am off tonight...it would be wasted...hmmmm...the dilemmas of night shift life and daily decisions...LOL.....
